Craft Fair Time!

Went with the sister to the 10A Alabama Craft Fair today.

It was our first time to go, so I didn't know what else to expect (apart from the fact that they sold handmade goods). From what I read online, I think the Alabama Craft Fair is held twice a month. They have a Facebook page, so in case you'd like to know when their next fair is, you might want to like and subscribe to them.

The Alabama Craft Fair is actually pretty near our place, and in a rather quiet neighborhood. The venue was on a side street---Alabama--- just off E. Rodriguez, Jr. Avenue.

We had an easy time finding the place, mainly because of this artsy gate design.

Cute, eh?

Inside, we found really nifty handmade stuff. One of the first booths we saw was of this leather bag maker. The bags were really pretty, and they had designs that were office-worthy, and others that were a bit more casual.

There was a stall called, Hey Kessy, that sold paper tape, baker's twine and paper art. Sister bought three rolls of twine, each priced at Php 50.

Most of the booths sold cute, artsy stuff, like silk-screened bags, framed art, stuffed critters, notecard sets, solid perfume and aromatherapy sachets, coffee, and handmade jewelry. Some of them are rather pricey, but I'm sure they'd be great holiday presents, especially for the young crowd.

I found this solid perfume stall super inviting. The booth had this vintage-y feel, and the packaging is spot-on. The solid perfumes are housed in lip balm "sticks" and are sold for Php 250. A bit pricey for me, since my daily scent is just Denenes. But I like the fact that you won't have to worry about it when you travel. It's spill-proof (unless it gets really hot out and the stick melts), it takes little space in your purse, and it's airport security-friendly, too.

They have scents for both men and women. Plus, dry oil sprays, scented sachets, and funny postcards.

This postcard from the solid perfume stall caught my eye:

Going inside the "house", we saw these:

Sis and I thought of getting presents for our girl cousins, so we bought organic soaps from this stall.

I love the colors of their soap boxes! The soaps are made of olive oil and some other natural ingredients. Most of the soaps smell really good, and are really chunky. I got a bar of their walnut oatmeal soap for Php 150. Not bad.

On our way out, we got some cute purses made from Dr. Seuss book pages, and plastic wrapper, to give as holiday presents to our girl cousins. I'll try to take a photo of the purses and post them here.

If you have time, do check out the Alabama Craft Fair. :)
